The
shock fitted as standard to to XC2 is a FastTrax SL model.
Its a coil/oil device, with adjustable preload and compression
damping (with lockout). No rebound adjustment unfortunately. I
don't think that the lock-out has a blow-off valve either - I've
broken it on mine.
The shock's eye-to-eye length presently a bit of an unknown quantity.
Mine seems to be a 190mm model, and I have had reports of a 210mm
shock. My advice is to measure the shock yourself before you order
a new one.
Dave at CVI told me that: "Risse build shocks to fit the
Coyote frames, you can also increase the travel of some of the
frames as well". I haven't tried their service, so I'm just
passing on information.
CVI's details are as follows:
- C.V.I. Specialists in Front and Rear Suspension.
- Importers for Risse Racing.
- UK Warranty agents for Noleen, Manitou, Risse Racing, Shock
Works.

I have seen a Fox
Float shock being used on an XC-2 at the 2002
Sleepless Race, and had reports of Rockshox
SID shocks being used on there so its not just Risse who make
compatible ones.
