Rider Hydration

Ooh! A Blowfish!The Problem:
The Coyote XC2 has a distinct lack of bottle mounts. None at all in fact. Apparently this is because they showed up as a weak point in safety tests, so the designer thought it was better to be safe than sorry. Besides, there isn't really anwhere to put them where they won't a) be in the way, or b) get covered in crap.

The Solution:
My original solution was to find some alternative way of mounting a bottle. I found some seatpost mount solutions, but they were designed for road bikes, and were not really up to the rigours of mountain biking. Not only that, but they didn't fit my 31.2mm seatpost.

So I turned to the hydration pack solution. The one I use is the Camelbak Blowfish (pictured). It allows me to carry up to 3 litres of fluid, some tools, a mini-pump, other miscellaneous stuff (chocolate, keys, money), and if necessary, an extra bit of clothing (aye lad, it gets cold on them mountains). Suits me sir.

The Camelbak Rogue is smaller (just 2 litres and fewer pockets) so may suit your requirements better.
